Soapbox

From MIKE K8NS, SKCC #10580C

The band conditions were so poor I could hardly copy my own sidetone. But, still had fun. It was neat when UT5UIA asked me to QSY up 1 to avoid QRM. What QRM? 73 de Mike K8NS #10580C

From Rick WU1V, SKCC #9293T

Band conditions were only fair, but I worked three out of the four stations I heard, one on 15M and two on 20M. I only made the final 35 minutes of the sprint, so I'm pleased with my modest results. Special thanks to Bernard F5DE who patiently copied my RST 329 5-watt sigs across the pond. And a tip of the hat to new member Mike K8NS #10580C who already has his Centurion! 72/73 to all three folks I worked. I had fun.

From Matt N3EIN, SKCC #6742T

I usually contact only one US station in an attempt to keep the frequency clear for operators working weak DX signals. With conditions as they were, it probably didn’t matter, but I stayed with my procedure and found Rick-K0KEX on 20 meters and Pablo-KP4SJ (who always has a FB signal here in PA) on 15 meters. CU in the WES, Matt

From Bernard F5DE, SKCC #6247T

Only ten stations worked but a pleasure to be called by TA1ALN as a new SKCC number for me.

Then four QRP stations, ending my SKS-E by a very difficult QSO with Rick WU1V (qrp 5 W).

Checking my SWR during the event, I saw that it was very very high when not using the tuner, so I have problem with my GP multiband antenna.

After a very wet winter and spring I think moisture is now important into the coil traps, so I have to clean that before the next WES event.

73 to everybody ant thanks again for a pleasant short sprint.

From Rick K0KEX, SKCC #5220T

Got started for the last hour w/non-member AC4BN answering my QRP CQ, Dave aged 72 and a ham 55 years we had a great chat. Stayed with QRP and worked N3EIN, KK4BOB,K8NS, & KD3CA , a new member in my log..and also KP4SJ Pablo an 15M..The short time and 3 wts QRP made it o lot of fun...Thanks to all.72/73

From Mark N9YDZ, SKCC #9855

I stayed on 40 meters the entire time. My antenna didn't want to tune any where else. The last fifteen minutes I made two contacts and couldn't pull out the third calling me. Conditions on forty were poor. Thanks KC5YDA-John and KA9DVX-John for the contact. Had a gud time. Thanks to every one that made it happen.
