I had a BLAST today. First time on the key in months

and did it ever SHOW! HI Spent the first 15 minutes

listening on 20 and transmitting on 15! Darn Split Function! HI Oh Well, I really enjoyed this SKSE Sprint. Thank You

Thomas and All Those who operated today

From Bob WL7WH, SKCC #2940T

Was lots of fun, but poor condx for me. Hope next time will be much better...

From Terry KE5YUM, SKCC #5173T

Perhaps it was propogation in my part of the country, but I had no luck in the sprint. I heard many US stations, but only a few from EU.

From Randy KC9KHG, SKCC #3687T

Great first run of the new SKSE!! Thanks Thomas!

From Ray KJ4LEN, SKCC #6956T

I had fun but it was too short. Band condx were not very good.

From Paul K8PG, SKCC #118T

That was fun-1st spring/contest I did

From Donna AG6V, SKCC #6933T

I saw more EU stations on the SKED page than ever before, but I only heard the ever-present Bert F5DE. Hope the EU stations had fun, tho.

From Jim NV9X, SKCC #1358T

Nice weekday sprint. Tnx to my 3 contacts. Mostly listened while doing something else at same time. Looking forward to 2 hour version.

From Thomas M0TRN, SKCC #7344

Wow! That was fun. I was a little tired, didn't get much sleep last night trying to get the website ready for the action.

My impression is that the event worked out well. I heard many stations, both Europeans and Americans on the bands - first time ever I heard an SKCC pileup on 80m! I spent most of the time looking around 20m for DX and heard many QSO's between EU and US, which is exactly what I hoped to achieve with this sprint.

I can't wait for the next one, I think it will be 2 hours long.

Thanks to everyone for taking part and making this event a success!

The photo shows my station right after the sprint. I was using my amazing G0NVT PS213 key, and had the G3YUH bug No. 182, "Ron's Red Racer" on standby.

From Tom W4CU, SKCC #2733T

Was pleased to work 5 European members and three other EU stations that answered my CQ. Worked QRO because of poor conditions from Florida to Europe. The EU Sprint is a great idea. Thanks to all for the QSOs -vy73 Tom W4CU

From Pete W1PNS, SKCC #4853T

Congratulations on a great start to a new sprint!

With best regards,

From Dean NW2K, SKCC #7330T

Great idea and a perfect time of day. 100W into an 80M loop at 30 feet with tuner.

From Rob Thomson G4LMW, SKCC #4454T

Thanks Thomas - a great first event...

From Andy VE7LAJ, SKCC #6611T

Conx were not the greatest in the West. Only heard one EU stn, but managed to work him. Tnx Lluis. This was a great inaugural event, tnx to the organizers.

From Dave W3NP, SKCC #3182T

A lot of activity but band condx were not the best. Bert F6HKA was the strongest European station copied here in WV. 1 hour is not very long!!!! Used my Ten Tec Omni 7 at 80 watts to a KLM KT-34A at 15 meters and my key was the Vibroplex Champion from 1963. Had a good time...73, Dave - W3NP

From Drew AF2Z, SKCC #2082T

I'm glad I could add a few contacts to the inaugural SKSE sprint. Looking forward to many more events in the future. Rig here was Elecraft K3 running 10 watts to random wire; Junker straight key.

From John VK4TJ, SKCC #4474T

Off to a good start, I'd say, though we still need to reach out to members who do not see the Yahoo group, or frequent the sked page. 20 mtrs only comes good for me in VK about 45 minutes into the sprint. I had planned to mmakke my stand on 40, but it would seem F5DE was the only brave soul there, in the thick of the VK phone band.

From Mark NE0S, SKCC #6585T

Pretty rough condx here in midwest,20m the only band playing and not too good to EU..EA3NO and F6HKA both good and loud ...din`t know whether of not to work locals...maybe better next time if I can be around that early in the day as I work til 330pm normally.I was on vacation this week(yeaaaa).73 all thanks for qso``s Mark NE0S

From Tom W4TMW, SKCC #6184T

A great first start.

I thought U.S. stations were to work only dx stations?

If U.S. stations wrk U.S. stations in addition to DX, wouldn't that make it an SKS?

Looking forward to the next one.

From Ron AC2C, SKCC #2748T

Lots of fun - glad I was able to participate.

From Walt VE3HNE, SKCC #4893T

I had hoped to be able to work this contest but lawn cutting got in the way just got on in the last few minutes of the contest, my loss hope to get on for the next one.

From George N2JNZ, SKCC #2836T

Lousy condx on 20 meters , heard HA8KW and OK1KW plus 10 over but QRP wasnt making it to them. 2 hours would be nicer. And could we skip the 3 digit code ???

From Eldon W0SZV, SKCC #4999T

Got home from hospital 10 min before start. No luck but a good try. looking forward to next one

From Slim WA0BGV, SKCC #5465T

Not very many European stations heard here that I could work. Band seemed to be unusually poor at this qth. Ready for another try next month. 72 de Slim

From Rick N4RE, SKCC #942T

Had high hopes for good band condx but most signals were about 559. F6HKA, Bert, had a great signal at 579. It was a challenge copying signals that were near the noise level. QSB was quick and deep on 20 meters. I hope other ops had as much fun as me. 73, Rick-N4RE

From Randy KB4QQJ, SKCC #3508T

Well I goofed the score, but still had a great time. The soapbox didn't remain so I'm posting again. Strongest was W8JAR, Jeff in OH. He has been QRT for a long time and didn't know there was a sprint so I took time to tell him all about what he was missing. He was 30 over. Neatest contact was Ci, WU7R. First time contact with a call I haven't seen around in a while. It was great to see some of theothers that have been missing a while. W5ZR, NT9K and W4FOA, always a pleasure. Rig was a freshly built K2 at 5 watts into a fresh doublet I'm tweaking for this coming WES. Key was my original Marconi PS213.

The photo is the next best thing to playing radio and collecting Keys.

73,

Thanks for organising this event, I enjoyed the Sprint.

I very much hope that you will arrange regular Sprints.

I only worked 80M due to our BandPlan but gather many

stations were on 7 MHz so will do the same next time.

From Jirka OK5NN, SKCC #6014

TNX to all for a nice contest! I made 4 new SKCC members for my C-list!

From Alan KA5VZG, SKCC #6264T

Heard Bert, F6HKA on 20m, but lots of others did also. Basically nothing heard on 15m or 20m without QSB to get a solid copy. Heard lots of US stations calling.

From Erkki OH7QR, SKCC #6379C

Thomas, many thanks for this new SKCC activity, I had great fun and could stay awake despite the late hour, HI. Looking forward to the next SKSE. 73 de Erkki

From Dave KI6BHB, SKCC #4186C

Got on for the last 20 minutes or so. Put out calls from California on 10, 15 and 20 meters, but no luck.

Congrats on a great start for the SKSE!
