Soapbox

From Thomas M0TRN, SKCC #7344T

Thanks to all members for a great sprint! Sorry George N2JNZ that I couldn't pull you out of the noise, sadly my QTH has had persistent QRM on the lower bands almost every evening lately. I wish I knew what it was.

All activity was on 80m and 40m. Only DX worked was AB2ZI Kevin on 40m, the rest were EU stations.

From Lluis EA3NO, SKCC #6653T

very poor conditions today... I could only spend an hour.

Tnx to all 73 tu de Lluis

From Enric EA3VN, SKCC #7933

Bad conditions in general and stayed on noisy 80m until the end, when I had a good signal from MoTRN on 40m. Thanks everybody for contacts and hope next time will be better. Enric, EA3VN

From Feco HA8KW, SKCC #3447T

Awful condx, high level of QRN, no signals above 40m...

Anyway TNX for effort for all who tried to break the silence...

73,

Feco

From George N2JNZ, SKCC #2836T

went ok but only EU was Bernard , F5DE with the Norcal 40A , 1 watt to a ZeroFive 40 meter vertical. Used the Llaves QRP straight key ... thanks all !!!

From Jon K1NV, SKCC #2609T

Activity level seemed to be down and band conditions were poor for DX. By thirty minutes into the sprint, I had worked almost all the stations I could hear. Thanks to VE7LAJ for a QSO with Canada and to AB2ZI for his K3YOP multiplier. Both ten and fifteen meters were open, but only one QSO was made on 15M with K0KEX. I hope the DX stations outside the US had better luck.

From Rick K0KEX, SKCC #5220T

My first contact,20M KN4ZQ/QRP, 599 BUT found he was not an SKCC member, no problem, nice chat but found he was using a keyer. FYI: Dave was using a Ten Tec R4040, when I did a search for info I found a You Tube video of Dave in a Q with

NG9D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEOGWQUHdMM CK it out.

2nd QSO, 15M K1NV Good to hear Jon again...

3rd QSO, 15M HU2DX expedition answered his CQ w/1939 Vibroplex Original

4th QSO, 20M KA6JLT Rob gave me 349, he was 559 condx ???

5th QSO, 40M K2TV/QRP Bob was 449 I was 599 agn condx ???

Then I heard M0TRN calling CQ and answered but no joy..90 watts and my loop didn't cut it...the condx for this one were frustrating but enjoyed the time on the air. 73 Rick

From Marco IW1BCO, SKCC #8669

Poor conditions here: bad WX, noise S 9+ both on 40m and 80m, 20m closed. Thanks to all EU operators who spent many hours calling CQ during K3Y Event.

From Bernard F5DE, SKCC #6247T

Another SKSE was a pleasure to do 16 QSO with SKCC friends.

Two new numbers were contacted (IZ8NXG and PA0RBA) and three QRP stations were worked (IW1BCO, K2TV and N2JNZ with his 1 watt Norcal, giving him a real 439 report !)

Only 80 m and 40 m were used as unfortunately nothing was heard on higher bands.

Thank you all very much for QSO and I hope to meet you again soon during next WES and usual brag contacts.

Keep up the good work all of you, organizers of this great club !

Rig here : IC7400 (about 60 to 80 watts) into a multiband Hy-Gain DX-88 GP, and Baumuster hand key + Lionel J36 and Original Vibroplex bug keys.

Please excuse me for my scratchy bug keying, I suppose they have had too much work during the K3Y anniversary event month, hi ! I have to clean them, of course !

73 from South-West France (about 100 km west from F6HKA's QTH).

From Alex PA1FOX, SKCC #8265

My opinion is that 80m was not too bad. Feco had a very strong signal and the others weren't weak at all. 40m was no good, so I had all the activity on 80.

Great fun and 3 of the 8 QSO's were new numbers for me!

Tnx

From Andy VE7LAJ, SKCC #6611T

At this QTH, 40M and down had a noise floor of S7, 15M and up were dead, leaving only 20M, which was not in very good shape. Tnx to all who pulled me out of the mud to work me, and as always, tnx to the organizers who make these SKCC events possible. 73, de Andy
