Soapbox

From Thomas OV5T, SKCC #7344C

Holiday QTH, using FT-817ND and my Czech Army key, but no luck on the bands this evening. High QRM on 40m and 80m, and even though I did hear a couple of stations (F6HKA and HA8KW) I didn't manage to get through to them with my 5W to a long wire. Hopefully will have more luck operating K3Y/EU during the remainder of the week, before I go back to my home QTH - in a quieter environment and with QRO!

Now I know what people mean by urban noise - operating from the city of Copenhagen, I've heard more QRM than ever before.

Bands so so . . . they came back later. Thanks to KH6ZM (Max) for HI. 73

From Dean NW2K, SKCC #7330T

Tough conditions, 500W, matchbox, 80M loop at 30 feet. Thanks to F6HKA for being the special station. Happy to work ZS6JBJ, John, in AF now rather than /W0. I enjoy SKSE and hope for better conditions and more activity. Thanks to all for QSOs. HNY.

From Dennis W8VN, SKCC #3141T

First SKSE. Only worked a few minutes, but still fun.

From Bob GM3ZDH, SKCC #6027

Rotten conditions once again - but got more QSO's than last time!

From Jon K1NV, SKCC #2609T

I caught F6HKA near the beginning of the sprint. Bert had a good signal out here in CA. I had to eat a quick lunch and upon return to the shack about 2030Z, the path to Europe was gone. K3Y/KP4 was worked on 15M, but all other QSO's were on 20M which wasn't in the best shape. Five of the K3Y operators were worked which kept things interesting. I appreciated the QSO with K7ZYV in MS for state number 48 worked from my new CA QTH. A special nod to KB4DXV, Jim in AZ, who had the biggest signal of the Sprint this time.

From Feco HA8KW, SKCC #3447T

Very high level of QRN made my job difficult... Surplus: there was no any signal above 40m. 15 QSO's on 80m, 1 QSO on 40m. I hope condx will improve soon.

From Bert F6HKA, SKCC #6069T

Thanks everybody for contacts. Conditions were very bad with very noisy bands. Happy New Year and hope next time will be better. 73 Bert

From Bernard F5DE, SKCC #6247T

Only seven stations contacted for this SKSE :

F6HKA : 3 bands,

73 from France !

From Marco IW1BCO, SKCC #8669

My first SKSE. Nobody heard on 20m, weak signs on 40m, only made 2 qso on 80m QRP! Cond: FT817-ant windom 41m- KK1 straight key by American Morse Equipment(Kit) "customized".

From Rick K0KEX, SKCC #5220T

Conditions were good in Missouri, mid 60's for January WOW!! Band hopping was the process here. Began on 20M and caught F6HKA right off, thank you Bert for being the "Special station". 10M had a strange noise, LW3EX, Walt not as strong as usual. Went to 15M to check condx, K3Y/KP4 599 TU Julio.

Phone calls and chores limited my time, Thanks to all for a fun SKS-E event....73 Rick
