From Hugh AE5VB, SKCC #7283T

Thanks all :)

From Tony W4FOA, SKCC #641T

Found conditions to be mixed. Pedro CE3FZ was very loud on 10. Bert F6HKA had his usual big signal on 20 and 15. Heard several other EU stations who couldn't hear me 8-( Lots of fun as always.

From Joerg DL9YCS, SKCC #7150T

again a big event ! tnx everybody who joined the SKSE !

73 Joerg

From Bert W5ZR, SKCC #2931T

Conditions very rough from here in the south USA. Sorry for those callers I could not read. 20 Meters was the best band for Europe and 15 Meters gave South America! Thanks to all who contacted me. 73 Bert

From Thomas M0TRN, SKCC #7344

I had a blast in this SKSE, and I worked more SKCC members than ever before.

My strategy was a bit different than the previous times - I started calling CQ on 14051.0 even before the sprint started, and stayed there for the first 90 minutes, and I never had to call CQ more than once or twice between QSO's.

In the end I switched to 40m to try for some European contacts, but I only had a QSO with a non-SKCC member there, I guess the conditions on the higher bands were so good for DX that most people stayed there!

I worked many stations, both European and DX. The conditions were better than I've seen before, with my limited antenna (inverted V up about 12m) I can often barely hear the North American stations but this time quite a few of them came through with good signals. The weakest station I worked was Carlos CT1GFQ, I sent a 229 report, almost couldn't hear him at all but at the narrowest filter setting my K3 managed to pull him out of the noise, took a few repeats but we got there, another first for me successfully working a barely audible station.

All in all a very enjoyable sprint, thanks to all who took part, and look forward to working you again in the WES!

From Lluis EA3NO, SKCC #6653T

Tnx to all for calling me, today poor conditions for me in all bands.

until the next Wes...¡¡

From Enric EA3VN, SKCC #7933

Not on holidays, as commonly here in August, but a pleasant summer night. Thanks to all and especially to Bert W5ZR, for this fantastic piece of software.

73 and cuagn.

Enric

From Ray KJ4LEN, SKCC #6956T

Terrible propagation to my QTH. I heard a lot of weak EU signals but they couldn't hear me. It was still a fun event. See everyone next time. Ray

From Rick K0KEX, SKCC #5220T

I have the same report as others concerning the band conditions. I could hear Lluis EA3NO and many others but could not work them. I did work two new stations, one was

2X QRP which was nice. A great learning experience..

Thanks to all...73 Rick

From Finn WB2UWU, SKCC #1708

Still no luck (lack of skill) in the SKSE. But it is fun trying. At least I try to convince myself that it is. Do I get 12.5 points for copying EA3NO's QSO with UT5UIA ?

From Joe KD2JC, SKCC #710T

Another nice sprint. Nice to finally QSO Randy KB4QQJ/M on 20M. Heard you Randy on 15M but no go. K2 70w and Telrex Tri-Bander. HamKey HK-3M straight key. Fall and Winter will really shine for this Sprint. 73

From Dave W3NP, SKCC #3182T

I just got my antenna rotator cable hooked back up after installing a lightning protector about 30 minutes into the sprint. I called EA3NO several times but was unable to get him. Most of the stations I heard and/or worked had decent signals here in WV, but I just didn't hear too many SKSE stations on. I think Bert F6HKA was the strongest signal at 599. I ran my Ten Tec Argonaut V at 5 watts to a 3 el yagi at 15 meters high. My key was a Vibroplex J-36 bug from 1941.

From Alan KA5VZG, SKCC #6264T

1ST QSO was with Lluis,EA3NO, then I lost power. Short sprint for me, but I guess if you can only make one contact, might as well be the bonus station. Sounded like there were going to be better band openings to Europe this time too :-)

From tom W4TMW, SKCC #6184T

Again, I really enjoyed this event. 20M seemed to be where all the action was. I listened on 40 and 15 but didn't hear much so kept reverting back to 20. Station here; K2/100, 3 el Yagi. Used straight key and magnetic bug....both homebrew.

From Gene KL7GLL, SKCC #1098T

Caught the last 10 minutes coming home from work and was lucky to catch Bert, F6HKA

From Bernard F5DE, SKCC #6247T

In spite of my low score, as usual it was a pleasure to work european SKCC members, and DX stations as W4TMW and CE3FR.

Also Bonus station EA3NO was worked on two bands.

See you all in the next WES event !

73 and good CW hunting !

From Ad PA2PCH, SKCC #5217

Again very bad conditions for USA. Only real DX was CE3FZ on 17m and W5ZR on 20m. Antenna: Dipole 2x14m. Logprogram ZFSprinter from W5ZR worked fine. Tnx Bert.

From George N2JNZ, SKCC #2836T

Conditions on 20 not good ... heard EA3NO but no joy ... station here a Flex 1500 , 5 watts to a ZeroFive 40m vertical and Llaves straight key ... Thanks !!!!

From Jerry K9PMV, SKCC #1438T

20 meters seemed to be the only band open from the US Midwest to Europe. First was Bert, F6HKA. He always has a 599 signal here. Other EU's were Thomas M0TRN, Tomas IT9QIK and, Enzo IZ5GVP. K2RFP's 3 watts QRP did a good job into Blue Island. Other US signals were weak until I swung the 2 element quad around to their direction. Rig here is my old Kenwood TS 520. It is still a good workhorse.

A fun event as usual. 73 to all.

Jerry K9PMV 1438 T

From TONY G3ZRJ, SKCC #3492

20M Went dead very quickly to USA, very little activity on 40 or 80M

From Erkki OH7QR, SKCC #6379C

Many thanks for QSOs, hope cuagn during the next SKSE.

From Timo OH5FNI, SKCC #6378C

Tnx, cu in the WES, 73 de Timo

From Randy KB4QQJ/M, SKCC #3508T

Well I completely forgot about the SKSE. While driving back from Charlotte NC I tuned in one of my normal watering holes and there was Bert, W5ZR calling "CQ SKSE"!! After stopping for gas I had 25 minutes to play. Heading east on Interstate 40 with my FT-817 into a homebrew center loaded "hustler type" antenna running 5 watts. I ALMOST made a contact with KD2JC on 15 meters but the 20 meter antenna was not up for the task so back to 20 and found him there. Thanks Joe for sticking with me! Good copy on EA3VN, DL9YCS and G3ZRN but couldn't get through the last minute pileups. Everybody else I heard I worked before time rand out. I'll post the next one on my calendar!!

72 for now,

Randy_KB4QQJ

PS. the grid square submitted is incorrect. I have no idea what grid I was in while driving cross state.
